José Torres
Originally from Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico, José Torres moved to Guadalajara to train in sculpture and painting, studying with various masters and academies. Later, he pursued a degree in Architecture at the University of Guadalajara, broadening his artistic and spatial vision. He is a founder and member of the Guadalajara chapter of the IIDA (International Interior Design Association), standing out as an active figure in the field of design.
In 1980, he founded the José Torres Colección Studio and Workshop, where he has developed a multifaceted body of work encompassing materials such as clay, wood, fibers, resins, and bronze. His exploration of mixed media has allowed him to merge artistic disciplines, generating unique pieces that connect sculpture, design, and architecture.
His work has been published in leading interior design and decoration magazines, and he has collaborated with renowned design, interior design, and hospitality firms in various countries. Throughout his career, he has received numerous national and international awards and has participated in exhibitions and galleries in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and other regions around the world.
